About Diana ‘NURA’ Wood-Campbell:

NURA’ (vocals / percussion / guitar) moved from the
Ottawa Valley to Toronto in the late 70's to study
theatre at Ryerson University and vocals at the
Royal Conservatory of Ontario. She has also York
University and studied ear training with
conductor/composer Robert Mundinger.

In addition to performance tours in folk, pop, rock
and theatre, Nura’s love of music soon found her
working with a long list of some of Canada’s finest
musicians; Joe Rockman (Jeff Healey), Randy
Cooke (Sass Jordan), Kevin Breit (Norah Jones),
Faith Chorale, Lorne Lofsky and many more. She
has appeared on National Television and has
performed extensively across Canada and parts of
the U.S. over the years. Nura currently performs in
live venues within Simcoe County and Toronto.

Nura’s self-titled debut release received several
awards and nominations Internationally. She can
also be heard on compilations from Smoothjazz.
com (U.S.) and ‘Rendezvous on the Jazz Boulevard’
Vol. 4 – Universal, Poland.

Her upcoming duo release with bassist Stuart
Steinhart titled  ‘What the world needs now’ is a
Nura has also written the phonetics and recorded
the vocalese layers on Stuart Steinhart’s newly
released solo cd release ‘Edification’, featuring
some of the most reputable musicians in the world.
Nura continues to further her study and exploration
of vocals utilizing more global and esoteric
approaches to technique, offering a much broader
perspective to finding the natural and individual
voice.
